Trip Description

This motorcycle journey is a deep dive into the dramatic heart of Nepal, following winding roads, river gorges, and high mountain plateaus on a Royal Enfield. From lakeside calm to raw Himalayan terrain, the route blends adventure with culture, ever-changing landscapes, and moments of pure stillness. Riding through Mustang feels like crossing into another world, where dry winds sculpt the land, monasteries cling to cliffs, and villages rise from earth-toned valleys that feel closer to Tibet than to the rest of Nepal.

DAY 1 – Arrival in Kathmandu

On arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After check in, the rest of the day is free to recover from your journey and take in the first impressions of Nepal’s capital. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 2 – Kathmandu to Pokhara

The ride begins with a scenic journey toward Pokhara, following highways that cut through river valleys, terraced hills, and lively roadside towns. Stops along the way allow time for lunch and short breaks. As you approach Pokhara, the landscape softens and the mood becomes calmer. After settling into the hotel, the evening is ideal for a relaxed walk along the lakeside, with restaurants reflecting on the water and the mountains quietly watching from afar. Overnight in Pokhara.

DAY 3 – Pokhara to Tatopani

Leaving Pokhara, the road leads toward Beni on smooth tarmac before gradually transforming into a rugged dirt track as you head deeper into the Annapurna region. Weather plays a strong role here, with dry conditions offering an exciting ride and rain turning sections into a true test of balance and focus. The pace slows naturally, allowing time to stop, breathe, and absorb the changing scenery. On arrival in Tatopani, permits are completed and the reward comes in the evening with a soak in the natural hot springs beside the Kali Gandaki River. Warm water, mountain air, and tired muscles make this a memorable end to the day. Overnight in Tatopani.

DAY 4 – Tatopani to Tukuche

The road climbs steadily through areas known for landslides, where riding demands full attention. Heavy machinery is often at work keeping the route open, and the terrain shifts constantly beneath the wheels. Beyond Ghasa, the views become more dramatic, with Annapurna rising sharply nearby and deep gorges carving the land below. As the ride continues toward Tukuche, the valley widens and the sensation of riding between towering snow covered peaks becomes overwhelming. With clear weather, there is time to pause, photograph the giants of the Himalaya, and even take a short walk to viewpoints overlooking Dhaulagiri. Overnight in Tukuche.

DAY 5 – Tukuche to Muktinath

The morning ride to Jomsom is gentle and open, with manageable roads and occasional river crossings. Jomsom feels lively and unexpected at this altitude, with cafés, small hotels, and a mountain airstrip where planes land against a backdrop of peaks. Beyond Jomsom, the landscape changes again as vegetation thins and the terrain becomes stark and powerful. Crossing the Kali Gandaki on a suspension bridge marks the beginning of the climb toward Muktinath. The scenery feels lunar, with bare hills and vast skies creating a sense of isolation and freedom. On arrival, the views from the village rooftops stretch across multiple Himalayan ranges. Evening walks through town offer a glimpse into daily life at high altitude. Overnight in Muktinath.

DAY 6 – Exploring Muktinath

After breakfast, a short walk leads to the sacred temple of Muktinath, set high above the valley. From here, sweeping views open toward Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak, and the surrounding ridges. Nearby, a natural eternal flame burns beside flowing water, a site revered by both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The day unfolds at a relaxed pace, wandering through neighboring villages, visiting monasteries, and absorbing the silence and clarity of the high mountains. An optional descent toward Marpha can be made later in the day. Overnight in Muktinath.

DAY 7 – Muktinath to Tatopani

The return ride follows the same route, revealing the landscape from a new perspective. Descending from the high plateau back into the gorge, the air grows warmer and the scenery slowly regains color. Back in Tatopani, time is set aside to rest before returning to the hot springs in the evening. Immersed in warm water beneath the open sky, the day ends in complete relaxation. Overnight in Tatopani.

DAY 8 – Tatopani

This is a free day to recover and enjoy the surroundings. Optional short walks or local activities can be arranged, or you may simply choose to rest and enjoy the slower rhythm of village life. Overnight in Tatopani.

DAY 9 – Tatopani to Begnas Lake

The ride continues through the deepest gorge in the world, where the Himalayan air gradually gives way to jungle warmth. Forests thicken, rivers widen, and the mountains retreat into the distance. Just before reaching Begnas Lake, the road offers one of the most enjoyable stretches of riding, flowing naturally through gentle curves. Arrival at Begnas Lake brings a complete change of atmosphere, with still water, green hills, and a peaceful setting ideal for unwinding. Overnight near Begnas Lake.

DAY 10 – Begnas Lake

Surrounded by untouched nature, Begnas Lake lies cradled between forested hills and terraced fields. Snowy Himalayan peaks remain visible to the north, while the lake reflects the calm of the surrounding landscape. The day is free to relax, explore nearby trails, or simply enjoy the quiet. Overnight near Begnas Lake.

DAY 11 – Begnas Lake to Nuwakot

After breakfast, the journey resumes toward Nuwakot via Mugling. The route reconnects briefly with the highway before turning onto the newer road toward the Nepal China border region. The ride offers wide views over rivers, rice fields, and layered hills. Nuwakot appears perched above the valley, crowned by its historic palace complex. A visit to the palace, now a museum, provides insight into Nepal’s royal past and offers panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. Overnight in Nuwakot.

DAY 12 – Nuwakot to Kathmandu

The final ride to Kathmandu follows quiet roads through green valleys and traditional villages, with little traffic and open scenery. Entering the capital feels like returning from another world, where mountains, dust, and silence slowly give way to city life. In the evening, a farewell dinner celebrates the journey with traditional Nepali cuisine and cultural performances, offering one last immersion into the country’s music, dance, and heritage. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 13 – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. The journey ends with memories shaped by mountain roads, high passes, warm springs, and the timeless landscapes of Nepal.
